A list of items on trip planning

Most of the trips I take it as mini project. Lot of thoughts and ideas go into the planning .

The discussion starts with the timeline when it is planned to go . School holidays , exams , office leaves are the usual criteria comes as factors for this . Based on this we have to see what is the weather condition during that time . Because a monsoon time could be a spoiler with kids to go to a place . Some times the place would have been already decided then we have to accordingly arrange the leave plans based on the best climate for those locations .

I would rate these are the first major points . But it never ends there . With flight rate fluctuations and train ticket availability I have seen decision changing . So that could be the next steps . Some thought has to go into this as well . I have seen sometime the ticket from Chandigarh to Bangalore is much cheaper than Chandigarh to Chennai . Could be worth covering Bangalore before heading to Chennai . Such combination will have to be checked .

After all these done , if you dont have nice hotel to stay the trip becomes very uneasy . Finally many people also to take rest to be free from hectic work life . With lot of sites like tripadvisor, holidayiq, cleartrip, indiamike comes handy for a reasonable analysis . It is preferable to book in advance so that you dont have to waste time after reaching to a location . Look at the check in and check out time and meal options as well .

After these things are done , look at the taxi requirement to connect to different places . In most of the places this can be done after reaching as well . If you are getting good contacts and decided on what to be done then can be planned in advance . I would suggest look at the prominent sightseeing places of the destination so that you can also plan how do you want to run the day ...

During next post , I will try to note down what in reality I have done for some recent trips . If you need any templates what I used please do mail
